Ansley Simpson, an eighth grade student at 1st Baptist Church School recently visited Ratcliff Animal Hospital as part of a mentoring program at her school. Dr. Koenig was privileged to act as her mentor for this worthwhile program. Anna White (not pictured), a fellow student at 1st Baptist Church School also came to our clinic as part of this program. Dr. Ratcliff was very happy to serve as Anna's mentor. Both girls were able to sit in on examinations and appointments and were able to observe several surgical procedures as well. We were very excited to participate in this program and had a great time doing so. Both Anna and Ansley will make wonderful veterinarians in the future.

      Maria and Laura

Ratcliff Animal Hospital welcomed Maria and Laura who came to shadow Dr. Ratcliff and Dr. Koenig recently as part of a special school program. They were able to watch many exams, surgeries and procedures during their visit. As part of their assignment, they interviewed the doctors about being veterinarians, their education and the fun aspects of the job. We really enjoyed having them and wish them the best of luck in their future careers as veterinarians.

Rebecca and Dr. Ratcliff

Congratulations to Rebecca Walker, our senior animal care consultant! Rebecca was recently awarded the "2004 Louisiana Veterinary Support Person of the Year" at the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association winter meeting in January. Everyone here at Ratcliff Animal Hospital greatly appreciates all the wonderful things that she does here at the clinic and with all of our patients and their owners. We couldn't do it without her!
